Choose the Plan That Suits You
View the available Vectra plans and pricing, then choose the option that works for you. If you have a regular skin doctor or dermatologist, you can obtain a referral from them for disocunted pricing.
Book Online or Send a Referral
Appointments can be booked online via hotdoc. VECTRA gold does not require referral, VECTRA Silver requries referral, which can be uploaded via the hotdoc website.
Prepare for Your Scan
In your pre-appointment emails, and upon arrival, the VECTRA photomapping process will be explained. You will be asked to remove outer clothing, jewllery, glasses and makeup. The more exposed skin the cameras can see, the better the accuracy of the image.
Vectra Imaging and Skin Check
Your skin is imaged using the Vectra WB360 system to create a detailed 3D record. A clinician will also take a brief medical history and perform a manual skin check.
Review and Next Steps
DIgital dermoscopy will be used to provide diagnostic quality images of specifically identified lesions. These images can be send via report to a skin specalist for management, if required. The clinician will explain the findings and discuss any follow-up or referrals.

Early detection of melanoma is crucial. Evidence shows surgical removal of melanomas in their early stage, while they are still superficial, usually results in a high survival rate.

What to expect at your Vectra WB360 skin cancer check
You’ll receive a thorough skin check using the advanced Vectra WB360 system. This is a detailed process that captures a comprehensive 3D record of your skin surface.
High-resolution images are taken to establish a visual reference of moles and lesions at the time of your appointment. Your clinician will also take a medical history and perform a manual skin examination, including areas the camera cannot capture.
Where clinically appropriate, digital dermoscopy may be used to examine specific areas in more detail. All findings are assessed by a qualified clinician as part of your consultation.

Your Vectra Skin Cancer Check Sydney Questions, Answered
What is mole mapping?
Mole mapping, also known as photomapping, is the process of photographing and recording the size, characteristics and location of moles and lesions on the skin surface.
By repeating the process at regular intervals, it is possible to detect small changes to existing moles or the appearance of new moles, which can be one of the first indicators of melanoma.
Is there any radiation involved?
No. Vectra WB360 does not use radiation. The system uses photographic imaging only to capture images of the skin surface. There are no X-rays or radiation-based technologies involved in the imaging process.
Is Vectra safe for pregnant women?
Yes. Vectra WB360 skin imaging can be used during pregnancy because it does not involve radiation. If you are pregnant and have questions about total body photography or mole mapping, you can discuss this with your GP or treating doctor before your appointment.
How long does a Vectra WB360 skin check appointment take?
The length of a Vectra WB360 skin photomapping appointment depends on the package selected.
A Silver package appointment takes approximately 45 minutes.
A Gold package appointment can take up to 60 minutes, depending on the number of pigmented skin lesions being imaged.
What should I wear for total body photomapping?
For total body photography, we recommend wearing underwear you are comfortable in. It’s also helpful to arrive wearing a loose-fitting t-shirt and shorts, along with shoes that are easy to remove, to assist with the skin imaging process.
Can I eat and drink before a Vectra skin imaging appointment?
Yes. You can eat and drink normally before your Vectra WB360 skin photomapping appointment. There are no fasting or dietary restrictions required prior to total body photography.
Do I need a referral for mole mapping or skin photomapping?
A referral is required for Silver packages, as the skin photomapping images are reviewed by your GP or specialist.
A referral is not required for the Gold package, as a doctor reviews the images during your appointment and may communicate with your GP or dermatologist if needed.
Is Vectra skin photomapping covered by Medicare or private health insurance?
No. At present, mole mapping and total body photography are not covered by Medicare or private health insurance. Vectra WB360 skin imaging appointments are privately billed.
