Exercise Physiology

Enhance your workouts, improve body composition, prevent injuries, and prevent or manage chronic conditions with safe and effective exercise interventions.

Engaging in regular exercise, including both resistance training and aerobic activities, is essential for preventative healthcare and managing chronic conditions like heart disease and osteoporosis.

Research shows that strength training can reduce the risk of all-cause mortality by up to 27%, and maintaining cardiovascular fitness can decrease the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer by up to 80%, 90% and 33% respectively.

At Oracle Healthcare’s state-of-the-art facility in St. Leonard’s, our expert exercise physiologists create personalised exercise programs that not only enhance body function, strength, and performance, but also play a critical role in preventing chronic diseases and extending your life expectancy.

Areas of Expertise:

Our Services

Initial assessment

The journey begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your medical and exercise history, some basic functional movement assessments, and a discussion about your goals. This assessment helps us understand your needs and design an individualised exercise plan for you.

Tailored exercise plans

Based on your assessment, your exercise physiologist will help you set realistic goals and design a personalised plan that aligns with both your assessment results and your objectives, to help you achieve your fitness goals safely and effectively.

Exercise performance testing

Whether you’re an athlete, weekend warrior or just love being active, we offer a range of tests to help you understand your current cardiovascular fitness and capacity including lung function testing (spirometry), stress ECG testing and VO2 max testing.

DEXA body composition scans

If you're aiming to improve your body composition, or just get a better understanding of how your body composition is impacting your overall health, a DEXA scan provides deeper insights beyond the scales, allowing you to accurately track changes in muscle and fat mass.

Education and empowerment

Your exercise physiologist will provide practical advice and resources to help you understand how exercise impacts your body and how to make informed choices for your health and wellness.

Ongoing support and monitoring

Our exercise physiologist offers continuous support and monitoring to track your progress and make adjustments to your plan as needed. Regular follow-ups ensure you stay on track and continue to improve.
